The verdict

Wow, this serum is ‘TRULY’ gorgeous. I’ve had my fair share of trying out various facial serums in the past and each one seems to surpass the other. I have read so many fantastic reviews and descriptions of this product, to name a few:-

  • The Velvet Skin Brightening Serum
  • This stunningly innovative essence, described by Elle as “liquid rose.
  • Experience the essential anti-aging elixir for a firmer, brighter complexion that looks and feels instantly re-born.
  • Ingredients includes antioxidants and omegas to invigorate the skin, diminish the appearance of dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles and firm and brighten the complexion.

The serum has a silky soft luxury feel to it – just utterly devine.  I was trying to think of the best way to describe it at first and the word ‘slippery, silicone’ came to mind.   I first had the pleasure of trying this product thanks to Mintd Box, a premium beauty box that curates luxury cosmetics by innovative and quality brands every month via subscription.  It provides a luxurious boost of radiance and once applied sinks into your skin like butter.

The packaging comes in a lovely beautiful frosted bottle designed to catch anyone’s eye with a gold and white dropper top. The serum is a cloudy red-pink when shaken and has a watery smooth texture and the scent is of liquid rose petals with a slightly floral undertone.

When first applied my instant reaction was it seems a little on the watery side with it’s generous disperse than a few others tested before, so be careful when applying.  Only one drop is recommended but after a week I felt I needed a few more for hyrdration and to cover the entire skin.  I have been using this for over 2 weeks now and in terms of long term beneifts, I can’t say see a massive difference except it feels great on my skin and looks radiant.  That said, I’ve been a bit naughty, only using this in the morning so only time will tell to comment on the full benefits it really has to offer.

Su-Man is a leading celebrity facialist with a passion for her craft including wellness. She has created the Su-Man collection, encompassing a range of luxury products. Her background serves as a former professional dancer and extensive training in the healing arts.  I love what she says in her bio, “your skincare should be be a ritual and not a chore. Have a love affair with your skin and you will transform it beyond recognition. Life changes your skin, now change your skin for life”.

Overall, the Su-Man Velvet Skin Brightening Serum is a lovely product which I really enjoy using. My main concern is what do I do once it finishes because it’s not a cheap (sad face!) as an average consumer but I’ll live without, for NOW.  I even contacted Mindtd Box where I discovered the brand from to see if they had any more of that particular box it to purchase – “unfortunately we don’t” were their exact words in my Instagram DM this morning!  Ha, never mind.  I am currently using their facial scrub so look out for the review on this soon.

Overall, I can’t really fault this product at the moment aside from the hefty little price tag.  ‘I mean you pay for what you get, right”.  So until then, I’ll make it last as long as possible.

Is this the best NECK cream ever?

Is this the best NECK cream ever?

To nourish, tighten, plump, lift and firm skin of the delicate neck and decollete area.  What else does this cream do….read on!

Key details

  • Leontopodic acid extracted from Edelweiss flowers resurfaces the skin to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin.
  • White truffle enzymes improve the elasticity of the skin, thus firm and tone.
  • Two forms of hyaluronic acid, with different molecular weights, help to plump and nourish the skin for a fuller and thicker appearance.
  • A blend of polysaccharides and proteins completes the remodelling effect by acting as a “neck lift”.

How to use

Use morning and evening. Apply a small amount to the neck and décolleté (chest area). Always stroke in a gentle upward motion until absorbed.

Suitable For

Dry, Combination/Normal

The verdict

Silky, soft and smooth is the best way I can describe this beautiful lovely neck cream by Omorovicza. The texture is very creamy, a fluffily-like lightweight feel with a fresh smell to it. I was not aware of this brand before thanks to Mintd Box, a premium beauty box that curates luxury cosmetics by innovative and quality brands every month via subscription.

Often neglected but not entirely in my case, for years I’ve been using my day and night moisturiser as my neck cream as the instructions generally state to include moisturising the neck area.  I have used a separate neck cream in the past but didn’t feel it fulfilled my expectations as my neck tends to look and feel dry around that area, with a few lines added to it’s appearance (not quite to the extreme of the turkey effect but will do anything to avoid that from happening). What I like about this cream are the nourishing properties it consists and the feel of the luxurious formula on my skin.  It very much absorbs quite nicely and feels very soft. When applying, I’m sure you have all heard this before to stroke upwards.  My little tip is with gentle care around the entire neck, not just the front area.  I tend to add a little Vitamin E oil occasionally to the cream as I think the texture could have been a little richer to give it that added extra moisture, but that’s just me. I could already see a difference after a month’s use!

The price tag is a little on the hefty side for the average consumer retailing at £95 for a size 50ml pot.  However, it does go a long way if used sparingly (a pea amount) which is all you need.  Now, before you discard it completely due to the price tag, I would suggest checking out for any potential offers this brand has by scanning through the beauty websites such as – lookfantastic.com, cultbeauty.com, and my favourite Mintdbox.com where I discovered this brand.  As a serial bargain hunter, I’m always seeking a good deal and thankfully this gorgeous pot of cream was included in the monthly box I purchased at the time so it’s worth checking out.  Even if you unable to commit to a regular monthly subscription, essentially you have the option of trying them out for just one month with no strings attached.

Overall, OMOROVICZA neck cream is a lovely product which I really enjoy using.

You can find OMOROVICZA at various online beauty outlets.

Pretty Little Thing

Pretty Little Thing

My addiction to Pretty Little Thing is beyond me. However the name is far to what it describes me, as I’m a mature woman wearing a demographic age bracket that dare I say caters to a much younger consumer, but that said I think I can still rock a number or two. I know I did the make up a little over the top in this look but during my usual happy bubbly self I was going out to have some fun. Here’s one of my favourites.
The clutch bag you see here is actually my YSL make up bag. I couldn’t find the right bag that night so just had to improvise and make do! Shoes are by Sam Elderman.

Another one of my favourites is this pink lace cut out dress – I’m not sure why at the moment but I seem to have a thing for lace dresses.

Sheer Chemistry Tights!

Sheer Chemistry Tights!

I’m not a tights person, believe me!!! Even though I think they look sexy on a woman including suspenders, for me I’ve always had issues with them. I always felt either somehow restricted, I could never find the right size and the biggest issue as a woman of colour, the SHADE! Goodness me, how many times have I bought the wrong colour, or because I thought it was the closest match. During the last couple of years that’s all change with new designers, creators, business owners descending upon us like nowhere and the big brands starting to explore a bit deeper to capitalise on the ‘Woman of Colour’ who ‘newsflash’, er some of us do wear tights, just like we like to wear makeup, (another topic for discussion later). Meet Tahlia Gray, founder of Sheer Chemistry Tights – Her tights are curated for the women of colour and also every shade for all. Please check her out as her brand is doing big things! X

Vitamin E Oil by Health Aid

Vitamin E Oil by Health Aid

As far as I can remember I’ve been using this Vitamin E oil for the longest. It’s pure, it’s simple, and it’s unscented. Blessed to have oily skin.  However when applying this you have be careful if your skin is the same as mine as this oil is super thick, super rich, non-diluted like other brands and therefore only a small amount is recommended especially for those tiny fine lines or any scars. It’s the best on the market with its 100 % pure ingredients that have served me well over the years.
